Easily the largest piece of Melrose I've handled in many years- Id actually forgotten they made pieces this large in the range! This is my favourite glaze colour in the ware also which was made by Hoffmans Pottery of Brunswick Melbourne to compete with smaller ‘Studio Pottery’ of the 1930-40s era.This is a planter or jardinière, enduringly useful to display potted plants brought into the house to enjoy for a while, perhaps when flowering- and the base having no drainage holes mea...ns you can even water the pot inside without any leakage and damage to carpets, sideboards and other surfaces.The usual uniform crazing seen to almost all Melrose however no actual cracks and no chipping, no repairs! This planter is a whopping 30cm (12 inches) in diameter and stands approx 21cm. Total weight is 3 Kilos approx. We have listed several other pieces jewellery, silver, decorative art and collectables.
