HEARTS From 1843 JACQUARD COVERLET QUILT WOVEN BY R (REUBEN) PETER IN 5 COLORS
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:23711830 |
My original crazy and traditional quilt stockings, along with my other one of a kind creations, are "Handmade with love.....and a touch of lavender.....from my home to yours" since 2000.
I love to remember these creative and talented ladies from so long ago, an...d to preserve pieces of their works of arts into pillows, little hearts, stockings, lavender filled strawberries and sachets......and so much more.......are just some ways that I can keep their memories in our hearts. Offered are eight (8) little hearts made from an 1843 woven jacquard coverlet. This coverlet was woven in 5 colors......red, indigo, green, and gold on a natural tan. It was signed and dated in the corner blocks by R. (Reuben) Peter, a weaver known to have worked in Heidelberg, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1821 and wove from 1841 to 1850. My last photo shows one of the corner blocks for authentication only......it is no longer available. I will send along a photo copy of the corner piece for your records.
These little bits each measure approximately 5 inches wide by about 4 inches tall. They are firmly plumped with new premium fiberfil and will come with red yarn hangers. The front and back are from both the front and the reverse side of this coverlet quilt........so they can be hung with either side of your choosing.
Given that these little hearts were all individually hand crafted, they may very ever so slightly in size or symmetry. They are perfect as ornaments, package toppers, basket tucks....so many different ways to use them. The colors are great for Christmas decorations, as well as for your patriotic and country decor! You will receive all eight (8) hearts as shown and they will come to you from a smoke free home. Although I try very hard to use only the best areas of my cutter textiles, there might be some slight surface wear, but I will always let you know of any major issues. You won't be disappointed with my creations as I take great pride in my workmanship.....from the careful placing and cutting of the textiles' patterns, the construction of my cut pieces........to the final completed pieces for you to enjoy for many more years to come. Shipping will be with USPS. I will be glad to combine shipping on multiple items, so before paying, just let me know if you are still bidding.
Please take a moment to check out my other listings for more fine antiques and collectibles, vintage quilts and linens, stockings, ornies, and "sew" much more.
