Offered for sale is an Extraordinary 19th Century Windmill Crib Quilt, Hand Pieced, c1880
This antique circa 1880 crib quilt is hand pieced in a four patch block pattern with outstanding 19th century prints. The back is a fabulous window pane blue checked homespun fabric which is also pieced. The quilt measures 39" x 50". This quilt is expertly hand quilted at 7 spi. The batting is cotton. The fabric shows areas of fading and there is typical e...dge wear. A small wear spot is noted along an edge and photographed for accuracy. This wonderful quilt has been used and loved, likely for several generations; however, the graphic design and expert workmanship remain as a testimony to the artisan who created this lovely piece of textile history. It is offered as purchased from a New Jersey estate sale.
