This is your chance to own an EXCEEDINGLY RARE, ORIGINAL document from the D-Day invasion landings in Normandy 75 years ago this June. This document is one of the most SOUGHT-AFTER documents from the entire war and is becoming increasingly rare with each passing day. Today is your chance to own an original example in IMPECCABLE condition for it's age. This leaflet was given out by the SHAEF command to every soldier, sailor, and airman of the Allied Forces that would make the D-day invasion in Northern France. The heartfelt words, written by General Eisenhower himself, imparted a sense of pride in country and bravery that would propel our men forward to make the invasion successful. Think of how many men carried a copy of this very letter in their pockets as they jumped from the C-47 to parachute into Nazi-held territory, stormed the beaches, or made their bomb runs over the Continent that morning. You simply cannot let this document get away without adding it to your collection.
Overall, this original example is in WONDERFUL condition for it's age. This letter is 75 years old in just a few weeks. I have bought a sold a good many of these letters in the last 10 years, and this is one of the finest examples I have ever come across. The letter does not have any large tears, dog-eared corners, or missing sections. There is one small area on the back of the letter, just above the lower crease where the paper has been slightly excoriated, however this does not show through to the front of the letter. There are no significant holes, stains, or other blemishes. This letter is in INCREDIBLE shape for it's age. There are a few superficial, very shallow and light-colored stains on the back of the letter that do not show through to the front. The paper is in stable condition without being brittle or crisp. There is one tiny ink stain at the top right-hand side of the letter right along the rim that many would never notice without intentionally looking for blemishes. Along the 2 fold-lines, there is a tiny indentation at the edge of the document that do not extend onto the document surface. The left side at the fold marks is superficially wrinkled but not creased. Please see photos for visual illustration. You will search a long, LONG time to find another ORIGINAL example in this condition, and may in fact never find one.
As mentioned above, I have bought and sold a good many of these letters in the past 10 years and can certify with 100% certainty that this example is 100% WARTIME ORIGINAL. It is printed on correct period paper with the paper being of the proper weight and tone. The SHAEF logo is the correct wartime period, micro-dot printed logo, and the leaflet is the correct size at approximately 6 1/16th inches across by 9 1/16th inches long. This is just an absolutely beautiful example of this incredible letter. With Father's Day coming up, as well as the 75th anniversary of the D-day Invasion, this letter is a MUST-HAVE.

This letter would look fantastic matted and framed or displayed in a scrap book. Even many of the collectors who "have it all" don't have one of these!
