Original Description:
This circa 1930 apothecary show globe was manufactured by the Owens Illinois Glass Co.and blown into a four-piece mold.It has a ground-glass opening & it's original stopper.There are embossed "double swirl" lines running from top to bottom around the glass from the top to the footed base.The original, aluminium base stand was at one time electrified to accommodate a bulb to illuminate the colored water. It can easily be retro fitted, if so desired.The glass is very thick and heavy ...and will be shipped without the colored water.The measurements are:W/O base: 11" tall with stopper with a 32" circumference. With base: 14" tall.Condition is mint, with no glass defects.The base does show some ware commensurate with age and usage.A super apothecary shop/drug store display item.
