The six exceptional 4x5" aerial shots you're seeing were
produced by Ralph Foster of Foster Air Photo b...ack in 1962.
These are his original negatives.
This set shows the way the city and businesses looked
along Long Beach Blvd in Long Beach, California back then.
The 6 images capture scenes stretching from Ocean Blvd,
with the Breakers Hotel, and up towards the Bixby area.
The 4x5" negatives have been protected inside the envelope
for all these years ~ filed away in boxes. He used dividers between
each of the negatives to keep them from getting scratched.
I simply photographed these against a light table,
and reversed them with paint.net software to show
you what's in these images. A photo lab or a neg scanner
may offer better results than I've been able to produce.

Ralph Foster was a WWII pilot, and a famed
midget race car driver. In his later years he used
his piloting skills to combat forest fires, make archaelogical
expeditions to South America, and helped to map much of
the Orange County & Los Angeles County regions in aerial shots.

We obviously can't talk to the previous owner about the items we purchase, so we generally know nothing about the item's past history. ***** Q: Why is shipping so high? The post office ads on TV say things can ship for $5.95. A: Shipping and postage rates have gone way up over recent times. While some small things may indeed fit in that tiny flat rate box, most anything will need some sort of packaging materials to protect it, and that means a bigger box. We refuse to ship anything that's not safely packed, and sometimes that also means a bigger box. Other sellers think their responsibility ends when the package leaves them, but we know you want your purchase to arrive safely... and we do too.
