Up for auction is this vintage / antique Republic Period Chinese porcelain bitong brush pot / hat stand with beautiful robed court figures and colorful court landscape scene. There are two robed maidens and a child in the clouds talking to the robed god or court scholar and his attendant. Signed with calligraphy poem.
This piece was drilled and turned into a lamp in the mid-20th C and shows a partial Chinese factory mark on bottom. Lamp parts now removed and just the brush pot / ha...t stand is sold.
Some wear to the surface, some paint loss, and base rim / edge also show wear. No major issues, no cracks.
Measures about 11” inches tall and 5” inches wide (27.9 cm, 12.7 cm).
Would make a fantastic display piece, fine addition to a collection, or a great gift!
