1/4 Inch Large Objective Correction Collar Lens In Can For Brass Microscope.

A large objective brass microscope lens, engraved on the can lid and can side, '1/4', otherwise unsigned. I am wondering if this is the correct lens for the can as the lid will not fully screw down.
Length of objective 5.8 cms.
Length of canister 6.5 cms. Diameter 2.8 cms.
