VINTAGE OLDS AMBASSADOR CORNET - FULLERTON, CA ERA
Item History & Price
This listing is for vintage Olds Ambassador Cornet. It was made in Fullerton, CA. The serial number is 622, 566. I'm not sure exactly when it was made, but I'd guess mid to late 1970's.
This instrument is in overall very good condition, but it will need a little bit of attention to be put in tip top playing condition. There are a handful of minor dents that I've pointed out, including a water key foot that is pushed in slightly. It should all be relatively easy stuff for a brasswind technician with a dent ball set to fix. Neither the bell, nor the lead pipe appear to be bent up or down. The bell rim has not sustained any damage. I tried to remove the tuning slides, but was having some difficulty, and didn't want to force them. I don't think it will be a major issue to free them though. Same goes for the pistons. They are moving freely, but will surely need a cleaning and oiling. Probably a chem clean for the whole thing is advisable, since it has not been played for a long time. The lacquer is in good condition, with normal light wear and scratching, but it is mostly intact. It comes with its original Olds 3C mouthpiece. The shank is slightly out of round, but that should be an easy fix. The cup looks good. This instrument comes in its original plastic shell case. The handle is missing. The inside is clean and odor free. It has the former owners name written on the exterior in magic marker. This, by the way, was a one owner horn, and hasn't been played since he graduated high school he said.

Thanks again for looking!
Note to international buyers: Due to the current global pandemic, international shipments via USPS mail are experiencing significant delays. This is due to lack of available transportation (ie. mail is normally carried overseas as cargo on commercial passenger flights, however the flight schedules have been slashed). European buyers have experienced wait times of up to 2 months for shipments to arrive. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
