A wonderful collectible antique compass. The only maker mark is a Fleur de Lis on the face. This compass is in its original red case. There is an original label inside the case That appears to possibly be a date . I am unable to determine what the words are. It does have N2 on the bottom of the inscription. Most of the letters I cannot make out. A photo of the inscription is included.This is a beautiful collectible item . The case has some flaking of the red paint commensurate with it...s age. This is a beautiful collectible item . As is typical of many antique pieces of this age the gold content is not marked. It acid tests as 18K gold. It appears that the bale has at some time been removed and re-attached.The bale appears to be brass. The case has some flaking of the red paint commensurate with its age. A fine addition to any collection.
