Original Description:
Making an effort to restock the Ebay store, figured I'd start with the staples.  Every Alaskan Artifact collection has to have the key components of a harpoon rig. Every Yupik hunter carried a harpoon and every harpoon had a foreshaft at its heart.  The foreshaft connected the harpoon have to the toggle point or transfer shaft.   This basic torpedo design is thousands of years old and this particular specimen is easily hundreds years given its patina.  Foreshaf...ts came in many sizes and designs, the specimen is smaller than most and may have been used on an atlatl or light spear.  This a great specimen and excellent representative example of the classic Harpoon Foreshaft.  5+"  Please look at my other Alaskan Artifacts.
