Neat piece with a 1000 years of patina. Most likely an lance or spearhead with a carved full or blood groove. Extremely large and mostly intact which is amazing given its considerable age. Solid piece, looks to made from oosik. It may also have served as an ice tester, affixed to the butt of the hunter's harpoon and served as a means of striking the ice to gauge its stability as the Ancient Yupik hunter's crossed the ice flows of the Bering Sea. Overall a very n...ice specimen and excellent representation of an Ancient St. Lawrence Island tool. 11"-12". Last photo is on a 1" x 1" grid for reference.
