For sale is a set of 4 vintage Talavera dessert / salad hand-made plates from the URIARTE Studio in Puebla, Mexico. These are all signed on their back with the Ysauro Uriarte logo and details. The are authentic Talavera using the limited palette of a coral-peach, green, yellow, blue and black. The mixture of gray and white clay creates a unique warm off-white background. As typical of these vintage pieces there may be small air holes, a few areas where the glaze skipped a beat, etc. Al...l good! I don’t see any cracks, crazing or chips.
The painting is done by hand by skilled artisans so each plate is slightly different. The plates are approximately 7.5 inches in diameter. Sweet, charming, lovely and rare.
