Up for your consideration is this RARE Model 1873 trowel bayonet scabbard. Good condition - some nicks and scrapes to the leather and the brass tip has some corrosion. The body of it is leather covered metal. In M.H. Cole's Book US Military Knives, Bayonets and Machetes (1996) this is identified as the type 3 model. It appears to have been painted or dyed a brown color. It has little signs of use. I believe this to be an original period piece.Ship to US only RARE Model 1873 Trowel... Bayonet scabbard
