Up for bid is an original WW2 German K98 Bayonet, Scabbard, and Frog with Matching Serial Numbers, and a rare restamp found on the press catch. Although this is a wartime piece circa 1943, the blade is in good condition and though partly sharpened, it retains much of the original bluing of the steel. The press catch works smoothly. Both wooden grips are tight and solid in the pommel. Very slight rust on the bayonet handle and cross piece consistent with the age of the piece. Scabbard s...hows some wear, multiple dents, and surface rust, but the blade inserts smoothly and cleanly. Original leather frog with all stitching intact - some wear and scuffs but beautiful leather. All clear serial markings on the ricasso, BUT WHAT IS VERY INTERESTING IS THE RESTAMPING OF THE “31” ON THE PRESS CATCH! Very uncommon to see this.
