Where are all the 4x Sniper Scopes for your Type 99 rifle??? These are virtually Non Existent these days and almost all you see recently are the smaller Type 97 2.5x scopes. There are many collectors of Japanese sniper rifles who have a Type 99 rifle...but no scope to add to its completion and when added..usually almost doubles the value of your sniper rifle. First off...there is a small "dimple" on the backside of our scope (See photos)...This looks like it ha...s been there since it was made and when mounted..unseen...Now all the great stuff....Look at the original black lacquer paint still remaining on this scope...rubber eye cup...and that the optical company that had the contract was "Takatihio Manufacturing Company", , ..Known for the quality of there 4x scopes. There only contract for 4x scope was for just 1000 scopes...and their assigned contract serial range was #11, 500-12, 500., , , with this scope #12, 453 .. falling into the later range of their production .., , and less than 50 completed scope from this optical company have ever been reported. The rifle issue was we would expect from a late war scope...was rifle #9456 (See Photos)..so very near the end of the war issuance. To add more to the rarity..is it optics....Clear optics..with great grid vertical and horizontal lines..and NO BLACK SPECKS....We think this exact scope has some of the best optics we have seen in many years.
