If you collect Japanese sniper rifles or scopes...this is a RARE early variation for the Type 99 Sniper Rifle and we think there will me many viewers that have never seen another offered for sale. There are so many differences between the early Type 99 4x sniper scope cases and the much more common Square Sided mid and late war cases. First..look at the side of the body of the scope case...the sides are 'ROUNDED'...Now look at the top view of the lid....ROUNDED LID....and n...otice the (2) screws with washers. These are only found on very early 4x sniper scope cases and hold the inner round cushion pad....with holds the scope in place when stored inside the case. Look at the (3) slotted screws with washers and (2) additional on the back side...these hold the inner wooden retention "block" in place. Now look at the sewn leather pieces the hold the lid and strap "wire" in place...SEPARATE SEWN PIECES.....whereas later all one piece and usually canvas..not leather. The straps "hardware" are also unique...as "Quick Release" feature with steel colored hardware..and green enamel painted buckle with original "keeper"..
