This beautiful writing desk is in very good condition with original finish. There is a bit of wear at the front edge where 100+ years of people's arms have worn the finish a bit. Front of drawer has a couple scratches and the wood to the left of front drawer has a crack. There does not seem to be a manufacturer stamp on the front or inside the drawer anywhere. The top and shelves seem to be veneer. The legs are made of multiple pieces of solid oak joined together.
