This estate freshfootstool appears to have been homemade in Michigan of ash or chestnut withgolden oak finish ca. 1930. Measuring 14”tall x 15” x 12” overall. It has mortised construction with multiple rails and1930’s-40’s fabric on the top. You willnote looseness in the joints (no apparent breaks) and obvious wear to the edgesof the various members. The under-webbingis made from a mishmash of salvaged fabric suggesting this stool had humblebeginnings, most ...likely during the Great Depression.
