"STOP" Caricature of a U.K. Policeman Silver-Plate Bronze
Car Mascot Hood Ornament
c. 1915 3 Description: Original and very rare silver-plate solid bronze British car mascot hood ornament circa 1920.
The mascot depicting a rotund British policeman gracefull "Bobby" with his big left hand held up to Stop traffic.
This mascot is ilustrated in the Book:
Car Mascots an enthusiast's Guide by Giuseppe de Sirignano and David Sulzberger. Chapter 1: The Early Years.
The wood base is only for pictures propouse (not for sale)
Stamped "STOP" in the base front (poorly visible by the wear)
Measures: Height: 6 3/4" (17cm) Condition: Good original condition commensurate with the age of the piece.
Unfortunately, it has some scratchs and bumps here and there.
It has the original screw. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the piece is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging.
