Illinois Watch Co. 12 size 23 jewel open face pendant-set Grade 410 with very rare satin movement finish. A very cool watch for the high grade 12 size collector, the Grade 410 is typically seen with a fishscale pattern damaskeen and this is the only example I’ve seen of a non-private label Grade 410 with this satin plate finish instead of the fishscale damaskeen. Among private label Grade 410 production though this satin finish was used among mo...vements marked “The Lifetime Series” that were sold by R.H. Macy & Company. Movement is beautifully finished with ruby jewels in gold settings, gold balance screws, gold train wheels, and mirror finish steelwork. Watch is fronted by a metal dial with two-tone color to its deeply engraved central portion, and watch is housed in a green gold-filled Star Watch Case Co. case with striped pattern and shield engraving to its rear. Movement serial number is 3742222.Running and a very nice looking movement with excellent color and luster and just some typical mild surface marks and spots. Dial is in good condition with some scattered mild surface spots and marks. Case is attractive showing mild light wear with good engraving detail and case has just a few very small spots of wear to brass at the perimeter of its rear. Good glass crystal.
