Hampden Watch Co. 16 size 17 jewel hunting case lever-set New Railway pocket watch movement/dial/hands. Scarce high grade movement signed with the New Railway initials of “NR” within a flag shape to its barrel bridge. Very nice looking movement with an attractive nickel damaskeen and with gilt screws and regulator. Fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel Roman numeral dial with script signature that is paired with an attra...ctive set of “umbrella” style hands. Serial number is 816231.Running but balance motion is sluggish and I think likely this movement hasn’t seen a servicing in many years. Running and a nice looking movement with just some typical mild surface marks. Several of the jewel setting screws have lost their gilt finish, and regulator spring is not gilt finish but I believe is correct as the non-gilt regulator spring is consistent with others I’ve seen. Dial is beautiful with just some extremely faint outer chapter hairlines and some scattered minuscule pinpoint edge nicks.
