In 1949, Marcel Breuer, designed a “SplitLevel” house that was built in the garden of the MUSEUM OF MODERN ART in NewYork City. This modern house that was constructed as an affordable example ofcontemporary family housing was perhaps the first exposure for modernarchitecture for many thousands of New Yorkers.There are six (6) items included in thisauction:1)   Theactual exhibition catalog (The Museum of Modern ArtBulletin-Vol XVl, No.1 – 1949 – 20 pages with photos, f...loor plans and interiorviews of house furnishings, BREUER’s furniture & Saarinen Grasshopper & Womb Chair, Mfg. by KNOLL ASSOCIATES. Chairs & dining table byCHARLES EAMES Mfg. by HERMAN Miller. o  Original“Members’ Opening” invitation grungy along the edges. Thiswas a personal invitation to my husband for Wednesday April 13 from noon to 7pm& he had a free admission. He brought a guest and had to pay 29 cents + taxfor the ticket. It is folded in quarters. Size closed is 6-3/16” x 3-11/16’opened it measures 12-1/4” X 9-1/4”. Age soiling on back. 3)  Areview of the house consisting of: 4 clippings from the NewYork Times, Sunday Magazine Section with photos, floor plans & additionalcomments. Gringy & stained but very readable. Dated April 10, 1949.Make sure that you look at allphotos.
