Vintage McIntosh 30 Watt Tube Amplifier MC - 30 A - 116 - B &
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:26095032 | Model: MC 30 |
Brand: McIntosh | Type: Power Amplifier |
Here's an excellent, working McIntosh A-166-B thirty watt tube amplifier. The second version of the A-116, the A-116-B was basically identical to the MC30 in everything except name. This amp comes from a private audio engineering museum in western North Carolina, and it's one of dozens of vintage audio items from the museum that I'll be listing over the next few months. I'm offering these pieces "as found." Most of them work, but some don't. In all cases, I'll try to provide an accurate assessment of electrical condition and suitability for use based on limited testing. I don't have the time, energy or skill to repair the pieces that aren't working, so please read the descriptions carefully to make sure you get what you're expecting.
Cosmetic condition of this 250 amp is excellent, and it seems to be working perfectly. Output is clean at all levels, with no audible distortion. Clean chassis, clean chrome, with scattered minor pitting, clean paint and decals. Appears to be original throughout. Tubes are mostly RCA.
Please look at the pictures. They should speak for themselves.
And finally, if you think this amp is Old School, take a look at my TechnoGallerie website, where you can buy hard-to-find antique phonographs, antique radios, antique cameras and other gadgets you're not likely to see anywhere else. New arrivals include an 1906 Edison Home cylinder phonograph with a 26" all-brass horn; an 1862 Dallmeyer sliding box wet plate camera; and a complete, working 1922 Colin B. Kennedy radio receiving set with a Magnavox R3-B straight neck horn. Just type TechnoGallerie in the address line of your web browser and hit the enter key. TechnoGallerie has a newsletter, too, and if you take a second to sign up for it, you'll receive an email update whenever I list something new on the site -- typically once a week.
AMP IS FOR SALE TO USA ADDRESSES ONLY. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. NO EXCEPTIONS. SORRY.
That's about it. I will package the amp properly so that it arrives at your doorstep safely. I've been shipping fragile electrical antiques for years, and if you check my feedback, you'll see that I know how to do it correctly.
