Original Description:
I am a collector of Upper Bay Decoys. This decoy was carved by John " Daddy" Holly, the founder of the Havre de Grace, Maryland school of decoy carving. It was carved in the mid 1800s. The paint has been taken down to reveal as much original paint as possible-iron weight common in Upper Bay decoys prior to 1900. This decoy has a few knots but overall is in great shape for being over 150 years old.
