This handsome early, 8 inch tall, (larger of the 2 sizes) metal and composition, multi-ball-jointed male doll figure, model #1141, by A. Bucherer & Cie, Amriswil, Switzerland, SABA circa 1920s, wears his original red, Fireman* (fire fighter) molded and painted red fire helmet with badge shield, etc. and has very well molded and painted, chiseled features including deeply molded eyelids, slender nose, closed mouth and&n...bsp;painted, brown hair showing beneath the edges of his helmet with badge shield, composition hands and large composition & cloth boots. He can assume any type pose with thirteen individual joints. This line of figures was introduced at the spring, Leipzig fair in 1922 by Bucherer-Fisher (who worked for the famous, German toy company, MARKLIN) becoming an immediate success. His torso carries the incised signature: Made in Switzerland/Patents / Applied For and he needs a red felt, firefighter jacket. His condition is fair to good with smooth working joints although the fingers on one hand are damaged. There are also small nicks on the edge of his helmet.He has had no repairs and has no odors as he is from a *smoke free home. Other Bucherer dolls shown in last photos are not included and each will be listed separately.
