2 VINTAGE 1950 ' S DOLLS - SWEET ROSEMARY AND BETTY THE BRIDE - 30 " TALL

2 BEAUTIFUL COLLECTIBLE VINTAGE DOLLS FROM THE 1950'S - (1) SWEET ROSEMARY AND (2) BETTY THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE - BOTH WERE MADE BY DELUXE PREMIUM CORP. THEY WERE CALLED GROCERY STORE DOLLS
These two beautiful vintage dolls are highly collectible dolls.
They are in excellent vintage condition.
They were made by the Deluxe Toy Reading and copyrighted by Premium Corp in Newark, New Jersey, USA.
They were referred to as "The Supermarket Dol...ls" because they were sold at grocery stores.
They were made of soft miracle vinyl with bending arms and legs.
They each measure 30".
They have washable rooted hair.
Sweet Rosemary comes with its box, not in great shape, as can be seen in the very last picture. Betty the Beautiful Bride does not have a box.
Here are some information pertaining to both dolls:
They have a full head of beautiful, short Blonde/Reddish saran hair which glistens. Their lips and fingernails are perfectly painted and their complexions are peaches and cream, original blush to both cheeks, beautiful blue eyes which open and closes perfectly, original eyelashes to both eyes and a closed red mouth. They have a one piece body that was made of something new at that time, it was called "miracle skin", in an attempt to imitate human skin, their heads can be moved into different positions. Their dresses are made of beautiful taffeta satin and the satin is then covered in bountiful layers or tiers of delicate lace that has a tiny silver thread woven through them. Rosemary's dress is pink, Betty's dress is white. This lace was especially manufactured for these dresses, and is one of the most beautiful laces that I've ever seen. These dolls are truly a beauty even after sixty plus years. They are sister dolls with Darling Debbie, Beautiful Gail, Lovable Linda, and Cinderella. The main difference in all these dolls, which set them apart from the rest, were the beautiful elegant costumes, jewelry and accessories.
Here are some information pertaining to Sweet Rosemary:
She has the original beautiful pink lace dress, the dark pink velvet cumber bun that accentuates her tiny waistline, her panties, her simulated pearl jewelry consisting of her earrings and necklace. She is missing her matching hairpin, the fingerless gloves or gauntlets which were made of the same pink and silver lace as the dress, her high heels shoes with a silver adornment, her darling plastic purse with an embossed design in the plastic which hangs from a little golden chain.
Here are some information pertaining to Betty the Beautiful Bride:
She has the original beautiful white lace dress, her simulated pearl jewelry earrings. She is missing her matching necklace, her white cumber bun, her tiara with veil, her flower bouquet, her fingerless gloves or gauntlets which are made of the same white and silver lace as the dress, her high heel shoes with a silver adornment, and her panties.PLEASE NOTE: I have added four (4) Genuine Swarovski cluster crystals to compliment Betty the Beautiful Bride as follows:
2 to a 1 1/2" hot pink ribbon as a cumber cun;1 to a matching 1" hot pink ribbon as a chocker; and, 1 to a pretty 1" matching color flower bow as a head piece.
All of these add-ons can be easily removed simply by removing the ribbons and/or bows, but since I could not find any of the replacements, I thought they would make up somehow for the items that she is missing, and many of my friends agreed.
These dolls have never been played with.
There are no stains or markings, such as paint or ink, on the bodies, however they do show some stains around their legs and feet (please see pictures) which apparently are common on these type of dolls.
Their dresses are perfect, there are no tear, stains, missing or unraveled lace.
These dolls belonged to my aunt in Hawaii and she left them to me upon her passing to find a good home for them.
