Original Description:
Rare antique 18th century (1765) handwritten manuscript land indenture on vellum out of Piles Grove, Salem County, New Jersey between Peter & Elizabeth Lutherback (Louderback) and Jacon Nelson.  The deed lists many names and seems to catalogues the ownership of the land dating back to 1703 where the original parcel of 10, 000 acres was owned by early New Jersey settler James Brown.  I also noted the transfer of land to a Thomas Thompson who left several hundred acres... to his two daughters.  There are many names listed so I am not sure as to the exact content but it appears to be the delineation and surveying of land between several parties finalizing with the transfer from Lutherback to Nelson.  I also noted the names Phillip Tyler, Thomas Taylor, Henry Louterbeck (Lutherback), Elizabeth Louderbak (Lutherback), Thomas Penny, Obadiah Lloyd and Andres? C___ Loyd.  Signed at the base by several parties and accompanied with two wax seals.  Quite worthy of further research.
In Very Good condition considering age and rarity.  Exhibits gentle wear, soiling, toning, fold lines and some very small wear marks along the seam lines.  Entirely handwritten on vellum (dried calf skin).  When examined closely one can see the fibers of the animal skin.  Ink exhibits gentle fading in areas but entirely legible.  Quite suitable for framing.  Displays tremendously!
