This is a rare October 1978 "Performing Arts" program from the National Tour engagement of the award winning revival of Bram Stoker's "DRACULA" at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, California. (The production opened October 20th, 1977 at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City and ran for 925 performances while simultaneously playing on the road and abroad.) ..... The play starred JEREMY BRETT in the title role and featured DAL...TON DEARBORN, JOHN LONG, VICTORIA PAGE, FRITZ SPERBERG, NICK STANNARD, MARGARET WHITTON and DAVID HURST ..... Side Note: The production was awarded a 1978 Tony Award for "Most Innovative Production of a Revival" due primarily to the ambitious sets and breathtaking costumes designed by EDWARD GOREY. The only other Tony Award presented to "DRACULA" was for EDWARD GOREY's costume designs ..... CREDITS: Book by HAMILTON DEANE and JOHN L. DETAILS: The 72 page program measures 8 3/8" X 11" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, historical and promotional text, individual photos and bios of each of the actors, bios of each member of the creative team, seven production photos and several EDWARD GOREY illustrations. Also includes a ticket stub from the October 26th, 1978 performance stapled inside the back cover ..... CONDITION: With the exception of tearing to the lower outside corner of the back cover and minor edge wear, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
