WWII US M1 GARAND BAYONET~ ORIGINAL 10 INCH ONEIDA LTD ~RARE 1943 DATED VERSION

To check previous related feedback please check the eBay user name: motelbuyer.This WWII US M1 Garand Bayonet was purchased by one of my drivers this past month in Michigan. It is clean overall and was purchased with some other WWII & Korean War items.This WWII US M1 Garand Bayonet is as purchased direct from an estate we serviced in Michigan. This particular bayonet was manufactured by Oneida Ltd in 1943 and is a RARE original 10 inch dated version. M1 Garand bayonets with 10 inch blades were made later in WWII and only a few early 1943 manufactured ones are known to have been dated. After the war some were reworked by government contractors for Korean War use (see photos). Showing average use/wear the blade appears lightly sharpened long ago but doesn't have much of a sharp edge now. Some of the original finish remains to the blade but it has thinned mostly towards the tip (see photos). Ricasso has makers name (OL), the ordnance bomb and the 1943 date to one side (see photos). The other side has a crossed cannons ordnance marking (see photos). Pommel & crossguard have browned overall (see photos). Grips are the black plastic type, are clean and remain solid/intact with no cracks, chips or losses (see photos). Spring loaded release button is present above the crossguard and works perfectly. Crossguard is tight and doesn't wobble.Scabbard is clean/solid overall with no issues (see photos). Body retains most of it's original paint and is maker marked (Victory Plastics) to the reverse (see photos). Top fitting has arsenal flaming bomb, is excellent and utility belt hook is present/intact (see photos).This is a very rare 1943 dated original 10 blade version M1 Garand bayonet. It shows honest wartime use/wear and is fresh out of the woodwork after years in a Vet estate. Great opportunity for the advanced bayonet collector.
