BRASS TABLE STANDIn my estimation it dates from around the mid 19th Century, but please make up your own mind about this.
The telescope measures approx 17 1/2 inches (440mm) long extended, and 7 1/2 inches (190mm) when folded up.
It is in good, antique condition, with very light wear consumate to its age and use.
It has a leather covered barrel, and three brass draw tubes.The draw tubes all operate smoothly.
The object lens measures approx 1 inch (25mm) in diameter. There are no chips or cracks.
The instrument focuses easily, to give a good clear image, the correct way up.
The telescope is mounted on a decorative, brass table stand, which can be angled up and down and raised between 8 1/2 inches ( 215mm) and 14 3/4 inches ( 375mm) tall.
(The stand mount can be removed from the telescope by unscrewing the first draw tube.
Please see the photos for condition and type.This is a good antique ships telescope.
