Vintage Leather Turtle Shell Miners Safety Hat Helmet with a brass Justrite Carbide Lamp. This is a rare old turtle shell mining helmet with affixed JUSTRITE brass carbide lantern and leather brim. In very good condition. A great piece of coal mining history and an incredibly nostalgic centerpiece for any serious coal mining collection. Has a great patina and expected signs of service underground. There are impressions of someones initials as seen in the pictures.&nbs...p; The Justrite lamp has not been tested and does show a ding around the edging of the lamp. I have not attempted to straighten this, but looks as if it can be. Please review all photos as they are a part of the condition description.
