This is another curious Sasieni shape, the "Edgware". In the 1930's the Edgware was featured as an 8 dot but completely different shape, a chubby billiard. This one c.1940's is a tall stack flat bottomed setter! It's a really cool shape, much more unique than the original and has a slender bowl with a deep generous chamber that should provide a very long cool smoke. Bottom of the bowl and shank have a large flat spot making for a nice setter while the shank is otherwise round. Stem is ...original saddle vulcanite with big but comfortable fishtail bit and classic small early style Four baby blue Dots. Finish is that of a Dunhill Root Briar, a lighter natural stain that highlights the exceptional straight and flame grain with birdseye on the heel. Despite a lighting side charred mark on the front edge and what appears to be a scratch on the top of the shank this pipe is otherwise clean throughout with a healthy sound chamber. This Sasieni Edgware is a fine English indeed.

Dimensions: 5 1/2" Long, 2 1/4" Tall, 20mm Chamber Width, 2" Chamber Depth
Condition: Very Good. Chamber is clean and sound. Front edge of rim has charred/worn spot. Top of shank has what appears to be a superficial crack, scratch, or or natural flaw but the shank is sturdy and I can't imagine a crack forming like that in a shank this thick and not traveling to the end of the shank. Stem is superb! Weight: 36g
