This auction is for a RARE ANTIQUE 1890s G.W. GAIL & AX CHESAPEAKE FINE CUT TOBACCO JAR. It is pottery or stoneware, and it might have been a STORE DISPLAY advertisement. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.I tried researching a bit, but could not find out if it was a store advertising piece or for home use. I did find that it is from around 1890, so it is in pretty good shape for its age. Please note the large crack on the middle of the front. Other than that, there is ...one small chip on the rim of the base. There is crazy on all sides. I think the color has held up well for the age!It did not have a lid when I bought it. There is a stamp on the bottom, and I’m guessing that is the makers mark. 7.5” tall and just over 5.5” wide. Please see all photos for detailed images of the condition of this item.
