This is a Ronson Essex lighter with a leather case. I have also seen this case referred to as lizard skin, but I am not an expert in this area. Please judge from the photograph. It is not vinyl. The lighter is in excellent but not mint condition. For me, it just lit successfully in 10 out of the 10 times I tried it.
The leather is in very good condition, only showing a few tiny spots of wear.
I would describe the Essex model as large and luxurious: a Merce...des of lighters. It does not have a fill cap. Rather, you pull the bottom down slightly and turn it to expose the red felt surface which accepts lighter fluid. It weighs 69 grams whereas the Ronson Standard (an average sized Ronson model) weighs 43 grams. Because it is larger, I am assuming that it has a larger fuel capacity.
This vintage lighter is a great model and in great condition.
