OFFICER'S SWORD ~ DAMASCUS STEEL BLADE.
MOUNTS ARE OF BRASS WITH GOLD FINISH, GUARD HAS A LARGE TWO-HEADED EAGLE. GRIPS OF WOOD WITH STING RAY SKIN COVER. BLADE IS OF DAMASCUS STEEL, SINGLE EDGED WITH LARGE FULLER, BOTH SIDES HAVE ENGRAVED AND GILT DECORATIONS. CONDITION IS FARE TO GOOD WITH AGE WEAR AND PATINA, BLADE AND HILT ARE TIGHT. LIKELY 1800s.
