Here is a set not to be missed! This is an Emerson radio from 1946, model 520. An AM table model that was made right after WWII. What makes this radio stand out is the fine, marble swirled Catalin plastic cabinet. The cabinet came in 2 Catalin color combinations. the first was brown with white swirl. The second, more rare and desirable, is what this radio has: black with alabaster swirl. The cabinet is in excellent shape with NO chips or cracks.... There are some tiny scratches that can be seen on close inspection on this 74 year old radio but I am amazed by this radio's condition as Catalin is not the most durable of plastics. Even the black plastic rear plate is in excellent shape. The chassis has been fully restored. All tubes tested good. The chassis has been cleaned and lubricated and all capacitors have been replaced with their modern equivalents. As a result this set sounds GREAT, loud and clear across the AM broadcast band. The white plastic faceplate appears flawless, as do the white knobs. The speaker grille cloth has been replaced with a contemporary replica which almost precisely matches the old one. The plastic dial cover has likewise been replaced with an exact matching replica. This radio in this condition does not come around very often so don't miss this one. Due to the fragility of the radio, I will pack very well with double boxing. The radio weighs 8 pounds (unpacked) and measures 11 inches long by 8 1/2 inches high by 6 1/2 inches deep. Buyer pays shipping charges. I can deliver to the Kutztown PA radio meet on Friday/Saturday 9/18-19 if desired to save shipping charges if the buyer will be there. Paypal only. Good luck!
