Original Description:
Up for auction is a mint, hollow-carved Black Duck made by Ralph Malpage of London, Ontario.  The decoy is signed and dated March, 1980 by Malpage.  Hollow decoys by this maker are very rare making this great bird all that much more special.  The bird shows no wear and obviously never hit the water.  As a student of Ben Schmidt’s work, Malpage employed feather stamping over the entire body of this cool decoy.  It has a nicely fluted tail a...nd good glass eyes.  Note the beautiful painting detail on the bill and head.  Head is turned slight to the right.  We’ll let the photos do most of the talking on this one.  Just a really good example of Ralph’s work and a nice addition to any collector’s shelf.  Measures 17-3/4” long; 6-3/4” wide; and 6-3/4” tall.   Please ask questions or for more pictures.  Shipping includes insurance and is higher outside of the USA.   Thanks for looking.
