Original Description:
This early colander is absolutely stunning.  The colander dates to between 1880 and1890.  The rich mustard color highlightsthe embossed pattern.  This is the onlycolander I’ve ever seen with this rare molded pattern and a colander withhandles.  The underside of the handlesare concave making it easy to hold.  Theinside of the colander is glazed white which accents the well-formed starpattern of drainage holes.  This is adesirable signed smaller size colan...der. The bottom is stamped with the T. G. Green mark reading Green & Co.Ltd., a church and the Registration number for the pattern.   Signed colanders are extremely rare.  Measuring 9 ¼” in diameter by 4” high, thisbeauty is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. The colanderrings like a bell when you tap the rim.  Whoknew there was this variety in colanders of molded decorations on the side, patterns of drainage holes and sizes?  Thisis a beautiful rare signed colander you would be pleased to add to yourcollection.
