Original Description:
The depiction of the raven's head on the blade of this paddle is as good as those depicted on any pre-20th century northwest coast artifact.  The reverse side is signed "Bill Wilson Kwakiutl Paddle" and someone has written ca. 1978.  Made from close and even grained yellow cedar, the traditional carving material of this area. Being flat it can hang on the wall nicely.  Measures 48" long and the blade is 24" x 5 1/4", with the raven's head 17 1/2" long.  If this was ...a hundred years older it would be worth in the 4 figures.
