ANTIQUE VOLKSTEDT DRESDEN PORCELAIN LACE BALLERINA FIGURINE SEATED ON SOFA Welcome, stunning MADE BY AELTESTE VOLKSTEDTER PORZELLANFABRIK, Germany, signed in blue on the base with the logo in use 1915 ~ 1934 and embossed with what I believe is V20251, the studio was located in German Thuringia, one of the finest manufactures of porcelain figurines. The lace was made by dipping real lace in liquid porcelain and then cut and applied, the firing process burned away the rea...l lace leaving the porcelain lace behind, the flowers being made petal by petal and the entire piece was painted by hand. This piece is 5" tall, 6" wide and about 5" front to back, being incredibly fragile, very minimal lace loss, I could only find a couple of nicks throughout her entire dress, the fingers and flowers appear flawless with no crazing.
