A VINTAGE JOHN GOSNELL & Co, LONDON, YOUNG QUEEN VICTORIA PICTORIAL, CHERRY TOOTHPASTE POTLID POT LID and ORIGINAL BASE POT from the early c1880s period that has been found buried in an Edwardian rubbish tip a few years ago. This lid without Ltd. in the company title was the first to be used and was widely advertised during the c1870s. It was in still in use up to the c1890s when the Ltd. was added to the company title. The highly detailed strongl...y printed potlid measures just under 8cm in diameter by 4cm high on the base pot with the lid in position and is in EXCELLENT CONDITION being clean and white with no chips, cracks or hairlines, there is a flaw on the face just below the Queen pictorial. The original base pot is in good fair condition and fits really well but there are two some flakes to the inner flange that cannot be seen when the potlid is in position. I am quite happy to combine purchases for buyers to help save money on postage and shipping costs.
