This piece dates back to the 1970s; reminiscent of the style of Jean Lurcat, and really capturing the spirit of the time. There is a stylized rooster that seems to be half bird and half plant, and an unusual moth winging towards the moon. Colors are bright and deep. Measures 26" in height and is 31 " in width. The frame adds another 1 1/2" each side, making it 27 1/2" x 32 1/2". The piece just sits loosely in the frame, it is not attached to the stretched needlepoint. Overall in good, ...pre-owned vintage condition. This was created by hand from a painted canvas and selected yarns; when last available, the kit sold for about $800.
