Here is a beautiful original antique all Wood Carousel Horse. Authenticated by Ken Weaver, "probably made by Norman-Evans or US Merrygoround." It measures approximately 48 inches long by 40 inches high by about 9 inches wide. It is hand carved, hand made, and has it's original metal flange and hole for the carousel pole mounting on the horse's back which goes through to the underside.
This carousel horse, circa 1890, is very Realistic and Sculpture-like. Beau...tiful wood surface with only some tiny traces of the original paint remaining throughout. There are three metal rosettes on the harness and one original glass eye (on the left side). There are seams showing and minor chips and scratches consistent with age.
