Quality Pre-WWI Square Crystal Inkwell w Sterling Silver Top H/M B’ham 1913This is a good quality desk top inkwell with silver fittings hallmarked Birmingham 1913, for being made just before the outbreak of WWI. It has maker’s marks of “H.W.Ld” for Henry Williamson Ltd, Farringdon Road, London & Spencer Street, Birmingham.It is a square piece of crystal with very thick plain walls. Its decoration comes from the windowpane and hob-nail pattern wheel cut deeply to the base. It i...s fitted with a sterling silver collar and hinged mushroom domed lid. It is very good antique condition, with no faults, a small pin head sized nick to one base corner, minimal light wear, warm silver patina.
