A 19th century grand tour model of the ‘Boy with Thorn’ carved in alabaster. 10.5cm high. After the antique - Boy with Thorn, also called Fedele (Fedelino) or Spinario, is a Greco-Roman Hellenistic bronze sculpture of a boy withdrawing a thorn from the sole of his foot, now in the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Rome. There is a Roman marble version of this subject from the Medici collections in a corridor of the Uffizi Gallery, FlorenceThe left thumb is missing and a small chip to the l...eft elbow noted. There are some marks and surface wear associated with age, but overall in decorative condition which would display well. Please be guided by the photographs for condition.
