Please email any questions, and HAPPY BIDDING!For your consideration, this TRUE antique/vintage 1930s/40s handmade patchwork FOLK-ART quilt in a very RARE old pattern FDR's Democrat Donkey -- this pattern became popular when being a Democrat meant something completely different than it does today -- lots of Democrats in Texas during those days, and I believe this to be a Texas-made quilt -- this is FDR/late depression-era/WWII-era -- lots of HISTORY in this one! -- highly VISUAL, using VIVID multi-colors.....blues, reds, yellows, browns, and others placed against a creamy background -- definitely a SCRAP quilt, all old 100% cotton fabrics including some depression-era FEEDSACKS -- straight edges, narrowly binded and backed in solid denim/chambray blue cotton -- light-weight batting which feels like 100% hand-combed cotton -- the quilt measures 66" x 80", and was both hand and machine-pieced (probably on an old treadle) and then hand-quilted in generous grids at 4-5 stitches per inch -- everything nicely done, while still maintaining a primitive FOLK-ART presence -- in VERY EXCELLENT antique condition -- light wear/gentle usage, if any -- really looks UNUSED/UNWASHED -- strong, sturdy, everything intact -- colors CRISP and VIBRANT -- NICE and CLEAN -- appears stored correctly for many years -- really no issues to report -- these old beauties are getting harder and harder to find -- this quilt would be PERFECT for country farmhouse decors, laid across your bed, stacked in your quilt cabinet, or CELEBRATED by displaying on the wall as a great piece of TEXTILE ART! -- ALL THE HISTORY you could ask for, a true collector's piece....and the price is right!
