Please email any questions, and HAPPY BIDDING!For your consideration, this TRUE antique 1930s/40s PIECE of a quilt in an old RARE Pansy/Floral applique pattern -- why someone cut this section off this BEAUTIFUL quilt, I guess we will never know -- still lots of uses for it -- highly VISUAL, in VIVID jewel-toned colors of purple, yellow and jadite green against a creamy background -- all early period high-quality solid 100% cotton fabrics -- extremely well-executed, everything about this quilt is EXQUISITE -- the piece measures 34" x 80" -- narrowly banded in solid black, and backed in the same creamy cotton used on the front -- every TINY petal and leaf were hand-cut, hand-pieced, hand-appliqued in LOVELY blind-stitching, and then embellished in NICE hand-embroidery -- this seamstress of the era was really showing off her skills -- a very light layer of 100% hand-combed cotton was used for batting -- in VERY GOOD antique condition -- very light wear/usage -- may be unused/unwashed condition -- still strong and sturdy, with everything intact -- colors CRISP and VIBRANT -- mostly CLEAN, with some small age spots/stains that look highly liftable with a gentle soak or a quick trip to the cleaners which we'll leave up to the new owner -- no other issues to report -- this quilt-piece is OLD, RARE, and GORGEOUS and can be used in many ways -- as a headpiece across your pillows, with other vintage linens -- also laid across the foot of the bed -- actually make some pillows out of it, or use it as a runner or quilted scarf on your mantle or piano -- would be PERFECT in any decor from cottage/cabin to High Victorian -- you could even have it framed and display on the wall above your bed or sofa, as a great piece of true TEXTILE ART! -- a true collector's piece....and the price is right!
