sold without reserve Rarely do half plateCollins images come up for sale. This PhiladelphiaCollins daguerreotype is marked with the brothers (T.P. and D.C. Collins)black and gold label "Collins, 3d & Chestnut" on the lower rightportion of the mat. It dates between 1847-1849. &...nbsp;The image shows adutiful wife standing next to her seated portly husband, her gloved hand rests on his shoulder. She looks off into the far distance while he looks directlyinto the camera lens. The well to do couple are elegantly attired. The daguerreotype plateis in flawless pristine condition. It is housed in a rich Philadelphia-stylefloral leather case with a split spine in otherwise very clean condition. The velvetburgundy- pink pad is embossed with stylized tulips.
