An original antique circa 1850's daguerreotype of large size being a half plate of a affluent couple. The daguerreotype has its original seals and is a quality plate showing the silver plated back. The plate is uncased. Condition - aside from some minor dust beneath the cover glass the plate is in wonderful condition free of any wipes, scratches, mold spiders or mat abrasions and I am sure if one wished to break the original seals and clean the interior of the cover glass would really ...pop. A excellent example of a 1/2 plate daguerreotype in top untouched all original condition which is completely fresh to the market from a very old estate.
